Hynek Kmoníček, Head of the Foreign Affairs Section of the Office of the Czech President, explained on Czech Television why the Czech Republic is reluctant to accept the refugees. While he admitted that the Czech Republic does need immigrants for economic and demographic reasons, he continued: "On the other hand, we have a problem with the structure of the refugees as they are uncontrollably coming to Europe. Maybe it would be good to describe it as a kind of transfusion. When you undertake a transfusion, you need new blood. That is those immigrants. And it must be your type of blood, or the blood type must be neutral towards your blood, or the patient will die."
