Konda Reddis
The Konda Reddis or Hill Reddis are a designated Scheduled Tribe in the Indian state of Andhra Pradesh and neighboring states of Odisha, Tamil Nadu.[1]. {web|url=http://publishing.cdlib.org/ucpressebooks/view?docId=ft8r29p2r8&chunk.id=d0e195&toc.id=d0e195&brand=ucpress%7Ctitle=Tribes of India|website=publishing.cdlib.org|language=en|access-date=2018-05-25}}</ref> They live predominantly in the Khammam district, with a smaller number in the Alluri Sitharama Raju and Eluru districts.[2] Konda Reddis are not listed as tribals in the state of Odissa despite the community demand. The Konda Reddis normally speak in Telugu with outsiders.[3] The 1991 Census of India counted 432 Hill Reddis.[citation needed].
Religion[edit]
The Konda Reddis traditional religion does not have the concept of a spirit being inside man.[4] However the Reddis worship dead ancestors, the hills, local gods and have accepted Hindu gods.[citation needed]
